Support at Home - Package Types

Last updated on 14 Jan, 2026

The function of Package Types will largely remain the same. They are used to identify current funding sources of a client within the software to which appointments are attached. Package Types are different to Package Schedules:

  • Package Types is the list of funding sources that the Business uses

  • Package Schedules attach one or more Package Types to a client to use

Creating Support At Home Package Types

For Support at Home, these Package Types will be directly linked to one of the following SAH Budget Types:

  • Quarterly Client Budget

  • Case Management Budget

  • Home Modifications Budget

  • Assistive Technology Budget

  • Restorative Care Budget

  • End of Life Budget

Within Ezihealth we recommend you contact the Helpdesk to assist in setting up your Package Types.

And for the Funding Type, we recommend the following:

  • we will attach Quarterly Client Budget Funding types to all Levelled Packages

  • we will attach the corresponding Package Types (eg Assistive Technology) to all other Packages

We are recommending these packages are created:

  • SAH Level 1-8 (applies to all clients after their SAH assessment is completed)

  • SAH HCP Transitioned Level 1-4 (applies to all current HCP clients who have not had their SAH assessment completed

  • SAH Assistive Technology

    • Low

    • Med

    • High

  • SAH Home Modifications

  • SAH Restorative Care

  • SAH End Of Life

***Please note that whilst Case Management exists as its own funding type - to make life easy, Eziplan has integrated Case Management as part of SAH Quarterly Client and as such does not need its own package schedule***

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I repurpose my existing HCP 1-4 Package Types for the Transitioned Packages under SAH?

We are recommending this but if you choose to do this, and are just updating the name and funding type. - remember to notify to Ezihealth Helpdesk Team  to change the Package details after your October 2025 Claim

  • What about HCP Grandfathered Clients? Don't we need a funding type for them?

These do not need to be recorded at the Package Level (please see the SAH Manual for definition). The Main difference with Grandfathered clients is their Co-Contributions will be capped to the same level as their ITF in September 2024. This information will be communicated to you the same as all other SAH Clients and stored within the Co-Contributions module in Eziplan. They will also be able to continue to have a choice over all Service Types being provided and will not be restricted by their SAH Budget. It will also be automatically determined by Services Australia in each claim

  • How do I know if a client is a HCP Transitioned Care Participant?

All previous Home Care Package recipients are ‘transitioned HCP care participants’, with a subset having grandfathered provisions applied if they were approved prior to September 2024.
