Award Alerts Tab is located on the left side panel of the weekly planner and is highlighted in green. It encompasses Short Shifts, Shift Breaks, No Meal Breaks and Min/Max Hours as well as the summary of total Top up mins required and Broken Shift Allowances (BSA) Payable.

Considering the complexity of award rules, the Award Alerts Tab is integrated into the software

to notify the employer when overtime and penalties may be incurred with relation to the SCHADS.

  • Short Shift – shifts that are less than 2 hours and may incur a minimum engagement.
  • Broken Shift – relates to gap between appointments that will apply a Broken Shift Allowance as per the award.
  • Meal Break – a period of rest (not less than 30 minutes and not more than 60 minutes) that allows the employee to eat a meal during work hours. When No Meal Break is alerted, it means that a CW is on a continuous shift of more than 5 hours without a meal break.
  • Minimum Hours – alerts if an employer allocates an employee less than the minimum hours that the employee is contracted for in any week. The employee may claim the wages for the minimum shift hours they should have been allocated, even if they did not work for those hours.
  • Maximum Hours – alerts if an employer allocates employees hour/s more than the maximum contracted hours for the week so that he/she may be entitled for an overtime pay.
